In pursuance of one of its statutory mandates, the Institute is organizing its 9th Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Workshop, with the theme “ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHEMISTRY: PANACEA TO ECONOMIC RECESSION.” This workshop is aimed at:

Sensitizing the chemists on their strategic role in charting the nation’s economy out of recession through entrepreneurship chemistry;

Unveiling ways of using the application of Chemistry in creating Micro, Small, and Medium – scale Enterprises;

Giving participants a broad understanding of chemical principles, practical knowledge and skills in the development of Chemistry;

Imparting sufficient analytical knowledge and skills to participants to enable them solve Nigeria’s entrepreneurial problems;

Developing capacity to adapt and make use of emerging technologies;

Topics of the workshop are:

    The Role of Chemists in Innovation and Start-up Enterprises;

    Industrial Raw Materials and Products – The Place of Quality Assurance Chemists;

    Waste Utilization in the Development of Micro, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs);

    Practical Demonstration of the Production and Packaging of Palm oil and Shea butter; and

    Procedure for the Registration of a named product

The programme is scheduled as follows:

Date:          Wednesday, 5th and Thursday 6th April, 2017.

Venue:               Banquet Hall, University of Benin, Benin City

Time:          9:00am daily

Training Fee:       N 30, 000.00 (Chartered Chemists) only per participant/ N 35, 000.00 (Non-Chartered Chemists) only per participant

The fee covers all workshop materials, tea and lunch
